Did You Know the U.S. Government won an Oscar?

In 1964, the head of the United States Information Agency, George Stevens, Jr., commissioned his team to produce a film based on the nine African American students who were the first to attend the all-white Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas in 1957.

The film, Nine from Little Rock, went on to win the Academy Award for Best Documentary Short in 1965.
