Professional Managers Association Welcomes New Leadership Team

The Professional Managers Association (PMA) has welcomed several new additions to the organization’s national leadership team, including a new president. The board now includes a new member from Ogden, Utah and an additional member from Kansas City, Missouri. The new National President, Chad Hooper, currently serves as a Supervisory Tax Analyst for the Centralized Quality Review System (CQRS) located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Formed in 1981 by IRS Managers, PMA is a national membership association representing the interests of professional managers, management officials, and non-bargaining unit employees in the federal government. The organization’s previous president, Mike Leszcz, has retired after 45 years in public service.

“It has truly been a pleasure to work with Mike on the important issues that face the IRS and more generally federal employees.  Mike has been a solid supporter of PMA and federal employees.  Mike has had a long and distinguished career with the IRS and he will be missed,” Executive Director Tom Burger said in a message to members.

In a press release, newly elected National President Hooper said, “I am delighted that the PMA National Board of Directors have elected me as their National President. I intend to introduce PMA to as many of the IRS managers and management officials as I possibly can during my tenure. I, along with the support of the other board members, plan on attending as many manager meetings and events as possible.”

PMA President Hooper also noted his desire to modernize the organization’s messaging platforms and website in order to expedite the process of informing managers about current events.

Working alongside Hooper and Burger, the organization also elected a new National Vice President, Jamie Collins. Collins currently serves as Acting Section Chief for Atlanta/Andover Labor and Employee Relations Office, though he is physically located in Kansas City, MO, and is responsible for overseeing both offices of Labor Relations Specialists and Assistants.

“The entire PMA Board welcomes the new leaders and appreciates their commitment to bettering public service and the IRS,” Burger concluded. “We look forward to working together to represent our members across the country. As the new year and new decade begin, we usher in a new era for PMA; but rest assured, we will always remain a voice for leaders in public service.”
