Election Day: Which Federal Workforce Matters Will Be Impacted?
For close observers of federal workforce matters, today’s election will hold some added significance, with a number of House and Senate races impacting the make-up of key committees responsible for federal workforce legislation.
Amelia Brust notes that many will be watching the races of House members such as Rep. Barbara Comstock and Rep. Dave Brat, who represent large federal worker constituencies in the D.C.-metro area, as well as key committee figures like Senator Heidi Heitkamp.
Meanwhile, according to Route Fifty, “health care policy watchers this week will be closely eyeing developments in four conservative states, where supporters are pushing ballot measures to expand Medicaid eligibility to include hundreds of thousands of people who earn less than $17,000 a year.” Those votes are occurring in Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, and Utah.
