Carrying Coverage with WAEPA is Easier Than Ever

In addition to the many benefits we offer our Members, Civilian Federal Employees insured under our Group Term Life Insurance* and Guaranteed Issue Life Insurance Programs enjoy the ease of carrying coverage from us.

Part of the many factors that makes WAEPA unique are our convenient payment options:

Paperless

Bi-Weekly/Bi-Monthly/Monthly Payroll Deduction โ€“ If you are actively working, your payment can be automatically deducted from any paycheck, federal or otherwise; WAEPA would provide you with the information necessary to begin your allotment.

Annuity Deduction โ€“ If you are a federal retiree receiving an annuity, you can initiate a monthly allotment from your annuity, provided the allotment is $50 or more; WAEPA would provide you with the information necessary to begin your allotment.

Monthly Bank Draft โ€“ With your permission, WAEPA can create and manage a monthly deduction from your U.S. checking or savings account.

Online payments via your bank or bill pay service โ€“ You can initiate a payment online through your bank or bill pay service (the service would send WAEPA an eCheck). You can set up automatic/recurring payments, or you can initiate a payment when you receive a bill.

Online payments via E-Bill Express โ€“ E-Bill Express is an online payment portal where you can make one-time payments or create a profile to save your bank account information to pay premiums easily in the future. If you create an E-Bill Express profile, you will receive an email notification any time a payment is due.

Mail

Check/Money Order โ€“ You can pay your bill by mailing a check or money order to:

WAEPA

PO Box 60217

Charlotte, NC 28260-0217.

Coverage Portability

WAEPA Members also enjoy the portability of our coverage. With WAEPA, you remain eligible for insurance even after you leave federal service, whether it be to retire, change agencies, or leave the public sector. Not only that, but you will never have to submit additional health information simply because youโ€™ve left federal service. You only need to maintain your premiums.

If you pay via allotments and change jobs, leave federal service or retire, we will begin mailing a premium notice to you on a quarterly basis.

If you are on Payroll Deduction and change jobs or retire, your premium payment will automatically come in the form of a paper bill.

Notify us when you leave your position, whether it be to switch agencies, work in the private sector, or retire, so that we may ensure your preferred method of payment is set up in time.

If youโ€™re not currently a WAEPA Member and are interested in applying for coverage as a supplement or alternative to your policy with FEGLI, compare our Group Term Life Insurance Rates with FEGLIโ€™s today. WAEPA Membership is exclusively available to current or retired Civilian Federal Employees, including non-appropriated fund (NAF employees) and employees of the U.S. Postal Service.
